Memorable places in Kobrin: lost forever

Monument to Tadeush Kosciusko

In the early thirties Tadeush Kosciusko's bust was established in Kobrin on the place of a monument in honor of 100-year anniversary of a victory in War of 1812 which during World War I was broken by the German troops. The local artist Balbina Svitich-Vidatskaya became the sculptor who modeled the general's bust.

In 1951 the general was "overthrown" from a pedestal and transferred to the Brest regional museum of local lore. There it also lay more than 30 years when in 1988 it was decided to establish a sculpture in the homeland of Tadeush Kosciusko in Small Sekhnovichakh.
